My Experience | Past, Present, & Future Endeavors

Photography

Tiny Tourist

The Gateway Arch, St. Louis, MO

Circa 2002

My love of photography followed me from my childhood through high school where I was given the opportunity to enhance my skills and become a Freelance Photographer. Since then, working as Photos by Karen, I have had the pleasure of photographing many wonderful families, children, events, and personal fine art projects.

Interior Room Mural

Circa 2022

Murals are sort of a new old hobby for me. I know that may not make the most sense, so let me explain. I had a phase when I was in my younger teens where I loved to do, well, murals. My bedroom walls, large pieces of wood, canoes for my hometown's tourist initiative, and even my senior class hallway mural. I haven't really had the opportunity to share this skill with many others, but it is definitely one of those "hopes and dreams" type of creative outlets for me. As in, I hope and dream I'll be able to offer my services for murals, and document myself doing it to share with all of you, of course.

Drawing, Painting, and Beyond

Headphones

Graphite on Paper

Circa 2021

Another very common thing you can catch me doing is traditional art; drawing, painting, sketches, sculpture. You name it, I probably like creating it. High school and college were great for giving me a bit of structure for ideas and skill building exercises. My high school portfolio folder is still bursting at the seams with artwork begging to be framed. As I continue my journey into learning how to share my art, this is probably what will be seen the most, simply because it's the typical thing I spend my creative hours doing.
